Back Bay Project and Housing Rehabilitation Program

Baldwinville, MA

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS - BACK BAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Construction on the Back Bay Infrastructure Phase 3 Project has begun. Starting Monday, April 12, 2010 and continuing into the middle of July, construction crews will be working on Pleasant Street (from Forest to the western end) and Summer Street (between Fessenden and Pleasant) to add new water mains, drainage, sidewalks, and paving. Access to portions of the Back Bay neighborhood will periodically be restricted; however, residents will continue to have access unless otherwise notified by the contractor or project engineer.

As work progresses on each road, the road will be closed to thru traffic from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Residents will be allowed access, but may experience delays getting to and from their homes. Residents with immediate access concerns should speak with the on-site project foreman. Temporary water service will be installed throughout the project area to limit any service disruption.

The neighborhood' trash collector, Waste Management, has been notified of construction detours. Unless otherwise notified, trash pick-up will remain on the normal schedule for streets in the project area.

Construction is not expected to impact school bus routes. If there is concern about children needing to walk through or near the construction area to meet the bus, please contact the Community Development Office.
